The Dorado is an adaptive fishing rod holder designed for individuals who use wheelchairs or who have upper extremity disabilities. This adapted fishing device has a unique spring-loaded tube that allows the user to adjust the fishing rod to 1 of 4 fishing positions, including lift and reel. No wheelchair modifications are required to mount the Dorado clamps to the wheelchair - just drill 2 holes into the base plate of the Dorado to securely clamp it in place. This will give the rod holder more strength to catch a larger fish (up to 50 pounds). The Dorado will work with any fishing rod that is less than 1¼-inch in diameter; however, it will work best with a gimbal butt on the rod. The gimbal butt will engage the pivot bolt located at the bottom of the rod tube, and when tightened, the thumb screw on top of the rod holder will lock the rod in place.
